Mission
Our mission is to promote quality and efficiency in tourism education and training and, in general, in the development of human resources in tourism. UNWTO·THEMIS is an operational instrument to facilitate administration and management in implementing its programme of work in the area of education and training in tourism, and thus facilitating relations with UNWTOMembers, in close coordination with UNWTO and its Education and Knowledge Management Department (EKM).

Objetives
a. Information: Obtaining, processing and transmitting of information related to the development of Tourism human resources, by creating databases to cover the different aspects of the demand and the offer in education, training and strategic, organizing and managerial know-how in this area.
b. Quality standards: Design and management of quality standards in tourism education and training and in general development of tourism human resources. As well as strategic management, authorizing and supervising the certification work of national, regional or local entities.
c. Support for the National Tourism Administrations: Strengthening of the human capital of the Tourism Administrations, members of the UNWTO, and the companies and Institutions members of its Education Committee, collaborating with the UNWTO in the development of systems, programmes and activities aimed at improving their training.
d. Seminars and Courses: Creation and implementation of all types of projects, programmes, conferences, seminars, courses, publications, etc. – carried out under a traditional format or based on new technological supports – on the education, training and development of tourism human resources areas, while granting special priority to those with strategic importance or that substantially contribute to the economical and social development – via tourism – of regions or countries.
Location & Facilities
The Headquarters of the UNWTO·THEMIS Foundation are located in Andorra la Vella, Principality of Andorra. The offices have been recently redesigned and adapted to meet the needs of the new programme of work for the period of 2006-2007.
The offices are conceived to develop the UNWTO·THEMIS.TedQual Practicum. This UNWTO programme enables Members of WTO to gain an in-depth knowledge of the specialized Tourism Education and Training products and services, which UNWTO has developed in order to improve the competitiveness of its Members.
